Bunny and Bear Brooches Free Crochet Pattern



Happy Tuesday!


Do you wanna make a special gift for your little girl, or just wanna share your love for all crochet things? This week project may be just right for you!


Let's turn a boring jacket or backpack into something fun by adding these two adorable bunny and bear brooches!

Here's the FREE pattern!


YARN: Light (3) - Gray, White, Brown and Beige; Cotton Thread in Black

MATERIALS: C2 - 2.75 mm Hook; Poly Filling; Two 1” Long Brooch Pin Backs

DIMENSION: Bunny - H. 3” x L. 1” ¾’ / Bear - H. 2” x L. 1” ¾’

ABBREVIATIONS: magic ring (mr), stitch (st), slip stitch (sl st), single crochet (sc),

fasten off (F/O)

SKILL LEVEL: Beginner

SEAMLESSLY COLOR CHANGE: work in the color A until two loops of the last stitch remain on the hook. Use the color B to complete the stitch.

Bunny Brooch


EARS (gray yarn; make two)

Rnd 1: 6 sc in a mr (6)

Rnd 2: (1 sc, 1 sc inc) rep twice (8)

Rnd 3 - 7: sc even (8)

Rnd 8: (1 sc, 1 sc dec) rep twice (6)

Rnd 9: sc even (6); do not stuff the ear


Do no cut the yarn once you have completed the 2nd ear, CH 2 INSTEAD.


Merge the two ears together:

Rnd 10: join the yarn with a sl st to the 1st ear, ch1 and sc in the same st, crochet around 5 sc, work 1 sc in each one of the 2 stitches between the two ears, keep working on the 2nd ear, 6 sc, then work 1 sc in each one of the 2 stitches between the two ears (16)

Rnd 11: (1 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (24)

Rnd 12: (3 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (30)

Rnd 13 - 19: sc even (30)

Rnd 20: (3 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (24)

Rnd 21: (1 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (16)

Rnd 22: sc dec around (8)


F/O, cut the yarn and close the hole. Do not stuff the bunny head.


Embroider the NOSE between rnds 14-20 with black cotton thread.

Embroider the EYES between rnds 13-15, 6 sts apart, with black cotton thread.

Embroider the vertical marks on the front side of the ears with white yarn.

Add some pink color to cheeks and nose with make-up blush.

Sew the brooch pin to the back side of the bunny head with gray yarn.



Bear Brooch


HEAD (brown and beige yarn)

Rnd 1: starting off with brown yarn, 6 sc in a mr (6)

Rnd 2: sc inc around (12)

Rnd 3: (1 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (18)

Rnd 4: (2 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (24)

Rnd 5: (3 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (30)

Rnd 6: sc even (30)

Rnd 7: 12 sc, switch to beige yarn, 6 sc, switch back to brown yarn, 12 sc (30)

Rnd 8 - 11: rep rnd #7 (30)

Rnd 12: working with brown yarn only, (3 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (24)

Rnd 13: (1 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (16)

Rnd 14: sc dec around (8)

F/O, cut the yarn and close the hole. Do not stuff the bear head.


Embroider the NOSE between rnds 8-13 with black cotton thread.

Embroider the EYES between rnds 6-8, 6 sts apart, with black cotton thread.

Embroider the vertical marks on the top of the head with beige yarn.


EARS (brown yarn; make two)

Row 1: 6 sc in a mr; DO NOT CLOSE THE RING (6); ch 1 and turn

Row 2: sc even (6)

F/O and leave a long strand of yarn.


Flatten the bear head and sew the ears to the top of the head between rnds # 1-6.

Add some pink color to cheeks with make-up blush.

Sew the brooch pin to the back side of the bear head with brown yarn.
