Every aspect of this crocheted piece has been meticulously crafted to achieve an authentic appearance, from the frosting, to the little sprinkles.

 

This project is worked with Truboo (Lion Brand) - DK weight yarn, 100% rayon from bamboo, made that perfect for those who love working with natural fibers.

Crochet hook size B – 2.25 mm

DONUT

With A

Rnd 1: Ch 40, close the round (join 1st and last st with a sl st); ch 1, sc into the same st, 1 sc in next 39 chs – 40.

 

Start working in continuous rounds.

 

Rnd 2: * sc in the next st, 2 sc in the next st; rep from * around – 60 sc.

Rnd 3: Sc in each st around – 60 sc.

Rnd 4: * sc in the next 2 sts, 2 sc in the next st; rep from * around – 80 sc.

Rnd 5: Sc in each st around – 80 sc.

Rnd 6: * sc in the next 3 sts, 2 sc in the next st; rep from around – 100 sc.

Rnd 7: Sc in each st around – 100 sc.

Rnd 8: sc in the next 4 sts, 2 sc in the next st; rep from * around – 120 sc.

Rnd 9: Sc in each st around – 120 sc.

Rnd 10: * sc in the next 5 sts, 2 sc in the next st; rep from * around – 140 sc.

Rnds 11 - 18: Sc in each st around – 140 sc.

Rnd 19: With B, sc in each st around – 140 sc.

Rnds 20 - 21: Sc in each st around – 140 sc.

Rnd 22: With A, sc in each st around – 140 sc.

Rnds 23 - 25: Sc in each st around – 140 sc.

Rnd 26: * sc in the next 5 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 120 sc.

Rnd 27: Sc in each st around – 120 sc.

Rnd 28: * sc in the next 4 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 100 sc.

Rnd 29: Sc in each st around – 100 sc.

Rnd 30: * sc in the next 3 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 80 sc.

Rnd 31: Sc in each st around – 80 sc.

Rnd 32: * sc in the next 2 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 60 sc.

Rnd 33: Sc in each st around – 60 sc.

Rnd 34: * sc in the next st, sc2tog; rep from * around – 40 sc.

Rnds 35 - 41: sc in each st around – 40 sc.

 

Fasten off, leaving a long tail.

With A, sew the last round of the Donut to the foundation chain. Stuff as you go.




CHOCOLATE FROSTING

With C

Rnd 1: Ch 40, close the round (join 1st and last st with a sl st); ch 1, sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from around – 50.

 

Start working in continuous rounds.

 

Rnd 2: * sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around – 60.

Rnd 3: * sc in next 5 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around – 70.

Rnd 4: * sc in next 6 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around – 80.

Rnd 5: * sc in next 7 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around – 90.

Rnd 6: * sc in next 8 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around – 100.

Rnd 7: * sc in next 9 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around – 110.

Rnd 8: Sc in each st around – 110 sc.

Rnd 9: * sc in next 10 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around – 120.

Rnd 10: Sc in each st around – 120 sc.

Rnd 11: * sc in next 11 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around – 130.

Rnd 12: Sc in each st around – 130 sc.

Rnd 13: * sc in next 12 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around – 140.

Rnd 14: Sc in each st around – 140 sc.

Rnd 15: * sc in next 2 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st, hdc in next 2 sts, sc in next three sts; rep from around – 154 sc.

 

Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing Chocolate Frosting's first and last rnds to Donut.



WHITE FROSTING

Frosting I

With B

Row 1: Ch 124, 1 sc in 2nd ch from the hook, sc in next 22 sts, 4 sc in next st, sc in next 50 sts, sk 3 sts, sc in next st, sc in next 45 sts – 123 sc.

 

Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing White Frosting onto Donut.

 

Frosting II

With B

Row 1: Ch 124, 1 sc in 2nd ch from the hook, sc in next 44 sts, 4 sc in next st, sc in next 50 sts, sk 3 sts, sc in next st, sc in next 23 sts – 123 sc.

 

Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing White Frosting onto Donut.


Frosting III

With B

Row 1: Ch 50, 1 sc in 2nd ch from the hook, sc in next 23 chs, 4 sc in next ch, sc in next 24 chs – 52 sc.

 

Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing White Frosting onto Donut.



SPRINKLES (MAKE FOUR FOR EACH COLOR)

With D/E.

Rnd 1: 8 sc in a magic ring – 8 sc.

 

Fasten off and leave a long tail to sew the Sprinkles onto the Chocolate Frosting.
