Please forgive my confusion, but Rows 31 and 31 confuse me. The first row 31 says to decrease and end with 54 stitches, but the second one, where you add the trunk, also says to do a decrease and it should end with 56 stitches. Where are the extra two stitches coming from? I apologize if I'm just reading it wrong. But I am thoroughly confused. Thanks in advance.

I got confused too. Then I realized you aren't crocheting through both layers. You switch from the head to the trunk and then back to the head. It all works out in the end!😉
