Hammer & Screwdriver Free Crochet Pattern

Hello my fellow crocheters! Hope you're all well and safe!


Since I received a lot of great feedbacks and comments from you, my friends, about my last crochet projects, I decided I would create the ultimate crochet DIY TOOL KIT!


A Flat Head Screwdriver and a Blacksmithing Hammer are joining the Power Drill and completing a super cute set!


Your little handymen and women in your house will be thrilled to play with these safe and still very realistic toys! Let them choose their favorite colors and create a personalized kit they will be proud to show off on their tool belts!

SKILL LEVEL: Beginner

YARN: Medium Weight Cotton Yarn (Lace 4) in Gray, Aqua, Purple and Blue

OTHER MATERIALS: Polyester Fiber Filling; Yarn Needle

HOOK SIZES: E/3,25 mm

STITCHES USED and ABBREVIATIONS: magic ring (mr), chain (ch), slip stitch (sl st), single crochet (sc), half double crochet (hdc), back loop only (BLO), front loops only (FLO), decrease (dec), increase (inc), fasten off (F/O).

INSTRUCTIONS: work in rounds (join with a sl st and ch1 at the end of each round) unless otherwise instructed.

HAMMER


HEAD (gray yarn)

1) start working in rows, 7 ch, 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, 5 sc (6); ch1 and turn

2-5) sc even (6); ch1 and turn

6) sc even (6); do not ch1

…work in rounds from now on…

7) join with a sl st to the next st, ch1 and sc in the same st, 3 sc, 3 sc in the next st (corner stitch), 4 sc, 3 sc in the next st (corner stitch), 4 sc, 3 sc in the next st (corner stitch), 4 sc, 3 sc in the next st (corner stitch) (28)

8) working in BLO, sc even (28)

9-16) working in both loops now, sc even (28)

17) 4 sc, 1 sc dec, 1 sc, 4 hdc, 1 sc, 1 sc dec, 14 sc (26)

18) 4 sc, 1 sc dec, 4 hdc, 1 sc dec, 14 sc (24)

19) 4 sc, 1 hdc dec, 2 hdc, 1 hdc dec, 14 sc (22)

20) 3 sc, 1 hdc dec, 2 hdc, 1 hdc dec, 13 sc (20)

21) 2 sc, 1 hdc dec, 2 hdc, 1 hdc dec, 12 sc (18)

22) 1 sc, 1 hdc dec, 2 hdc, 1 hdc dec, 11 sc (16)

23-24) 1 sc, 4 hdc, 11 sc (16); start stuffing

25) 1 hdc dec, 2 hdc, 1 hdc dec, 10 sc (14)

26-27) sc even (14); finish stuffing

28) working in BLO, sc dec around (7); F/O, close the hole and hide the yarn.

HANDLE (blue yarn)

1) 6 sc in a mr (6)

2) sc inc around (12)

3) *1 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** around (18)

4) working in BLO, sc even (18)

5-12) working in both loops now, sc even (18)

13) *7 sc, 1 sc dec*, repeat ** twice (16)

14) sc even (16); start stuffing

15) *6 sc, 1 sc dec*, repeat ** twice (14)

16-34) sc even (14); F/O and leave a long tail of yarn to attach the handle to the head of the hammer between rnds #12-17. Finish stuffing before sewing the two pieces together.


SCREWDRIVER (aqua, purple and gray yarn)

1) starting off with aqua yarn, 6 sc in a mr (6)

2) sc inc around (12)

3) *2 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** around (16)

4) sc even (16)

5) switch to purple yarn, sc even (16)

6) switch back to aqua yarn, sc even (16)

7-15) sc even (16)

16) switch to purple yarn, sc even (16)

17) switch back to aqua yarn, sc even (16)

18) sc even (16); start stuffing

19) *2 sc, 1 sc dec*, repeat ** around (12)

20) *1 sc, 1 sc dec*, repeat ** around (8)

21-22) sc even (8)

23) work in FLO, sc inc around (16)

24) working in both loops now, sc even (16); finish stuffing

25) working in BLO, sc dec around (8)

26) switch to gray yarn and work in both loops now, *2 sc, 1 sc dec*, repeat ** twice (6)

27-34) sc even (6)

35) sc inc around (12)

36) *5 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** twice (14)

37) *5 sc, 1 sc dec *, repeat ** twice (12)

38) *1 sc, 1 sc dec*, repeat ** around (8)

39) flatten the screwdriver tip and work through both layers now, 4 sc (4); ch 1 and turn

40) sc even (4); F/O, cut and hide the yarn.
