Little critters are so adorable and so is this Baby Squirrel I designed few months ago as part of my Baby Amigurumi Collection.
It's a very easy design and I love how the color changes and the little details are making it even more realistic.

The finished item is approximately 5.5" high.

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate
YARN: Medium Weight Cotton Yarn (Lace 4) in Beige, Brown, Orange and Black
OTHER MATERIALS: Polyester Fiber Filling, 9mm black plastic safety eyes
HOOK SIZES: E/3,50 mm
STITCHES USED and ABBREVIATIONS: magic ring (mr), chain (ch), slip stitch (sl st), single crochet (sc), half double crochet (hdc), decrease (dec), increase (inc), fasten off (F/O).

Insert plastic safety eyes between rounds 13-14, 9 stitches apart (see picture)

Finish stuffing the doll’s head firmly.
Embroider the NOSE (between rnds #12-15) and the MOUTH LINE (between rnds #14-18) with some scrap black yarn.
Embroider the CHEEKS (between rnds #14-15) with some orange yarn.
Embroider the 3 MARKS on the top of the head with the chain stitch technique or with a series of slip stitches.
EARS (brown, beige and orange yarn; make two)
1) start working with brown yarn, 4 sc in a mr (4)
2) *1 sc, 1 inc*, repeat ** twice (6)
3) 2 sc, 1 inc, switch to beige yarn, 1 sc, switch back to brown yarn, 1 sc, 1 inc (8)
4) keep working with brown yarn, 4 sc, switch to beige yarn, 1 inc, 1 sc, switch back to brown yarn, 2 sc (9); F/O and leave a long tail of yarn to sew the ear onto the head. Flatten the ear before attaching it (between rnds #3-5); do not stuff the ear.
Attach a short tail of orange yarn to the tip of the ears, open up the strings with a sharp needle and trim them the desire length.
LEGS AND BODY (brown and beige yarn)
Make two:
1) start working with brown yarn, 8 sc in a mr (8)
2) *3 sc, 1 inc*, repeat ** twice (10)
3) sc even (10); F/O, hide the yarn
Do no cut the yarn once you have completed the 2nd leg, CH 1 INSTEAD.
Merge the two legs together:
4) join the yarn with a sl st to the 1st leg, ch1 and sc in the same st, crochet around 9 sc, 1 hdc inc into the stitch between the two legs, keep working on the other leg, 10 sc, 1 hdc inc into the stitch between the two legs (24)
5) *3 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** around (30)
6) 12 sc with brown yarn, 4 sc with beige yarn, 14 sc with brown yarn (30)
7) 11 sc with brown yarn, 6 sc with beige yarn, 13 sc with brown yarn (30) 8-11) repeat round 7 (30); start stuffing
12) 12 sc with brown yarn, 4 sc with beige yarn, 14 sc with brown yarn (30)

3-4) sc even (8); F/O and leave a long tail of yarn to attach the arm to the side of the body (between rnds #11-14). Stuff the arm lightly.
TAIL (brown yarn)
