My favorite time of the year is finally here and I'm super excited to share with you all the first of three adorable Fall inspired projects!


Crochet along Kleo the Pumpkin - a super easy projects that will definitely bring a smile to your face!

Display it in your house as a Fall decoration, or gift it your kids as a fun toy food!

#133A Pumpkin 2 balls (A)

#132 Olive 1 ball (B)

#101F Baby Pink 1 ball (C)


OTHER MATERIALS

Crochet Hook Size G-6 (4 mm)

Plastic safety eyes (10 mm)

Black and White embroidery floss

Yarn Needle

Poly Filling


GAUGE

19 sc + 21 rows = about 4 in. (10 cm).

PUMPKIN

With A make a magic ring.

Rnd 1: Work 8 sc in ring.

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around – 16 sc.

Rnd 3: * sc in next st, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around – 24 sc.

Rnd 4: * sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around – 32 sc.

Rnd 5: * sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around – 40 sc.

Rnd 6: * sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around – 48 sc.

Rnd 7: * sc in next 5 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around – 56 sc.

Rnd 8: * sc in next 6 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around – 64 sc.

Rnd 9: * sc in next 7 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around – 72 sc.

Rnd 10: Sc in each st around – 72 sc.

Rnd 11: * sc in next 8 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around – 80 sc.

Rnd 12: * sc in next 9 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around – 88 sc.

Rnd 13: Sc in each st around – 88 sc.

Insert the plastic safety eyes between Rnds 30 and 31, approximately 24 sts apart.


Rnd 40: * sc in next 12 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 104 sc.

Rnd 41: Sc in each st around – 104 sc.

Rnd 42: * sc in next 11 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 96 sc.

Rnd 43: * sc in next 10 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 88 sc.

Rnd 44: Sc in each st around – 88 sc.



Begin stuffing and continue until the piece is complete.


Rnd 45: * sc in next 9 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 80 sc.

Rnd 46: * sc in next 8 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 72 sc.

Rnd 47: * sc in next 7 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 64 sc.

Rnd 48: * sc in next 6 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 56 sc.

Rnd 49: * sc in next 5 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 48 sc.

Rnd 50: * sc in next 4 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 40 sc.

Rnd 51: * sc in next 3 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 32 sc.

Rnd 52: * sc in next 2 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 24 sc.

Rnd 53: * sc in next 1 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 16 sc.

Rnd 54: Sc2tog around – 8 sc.


Fasten off and leave a very long tail to create the pumpkin bumps.

To create the pumpkin bumps:

With A, insert the needle up through the center and pull it out on the other side, wrap it around the pumpkin back to the bottom, stick the needle back up through the center and pull it tight so that it squeezes the pumpkin. Continue wrapping it around so that you end up with 7 bumps.


With white embroidery floss, embroider curves along outer edges of safety eyes for whites of eyes.

With black embroidery floss, embroider curves along upper edges of safety eyes for black of eyes.

With black embroidery floss, embroider straight stitch Eyebrows on face, above Eyes, between Rnds 33 and 37.

With black embroidery floss, embroider Mouth, between Rnds 22 and 25, approximately 7 sts long.



CHEEKS (make two)

With C

Rnd 1: Work 8 sc in ring.


Fasten off and leave a strand of yarn to sew Cheeks to Pumpkin below Eyes, between Rnds 24 and 28.



STEM

With B make a magic ring.

Rnd 1: Work 7 sc in ring.

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around – 14 sc.

Rnd 3: * sc in next st, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around – 21 sc.

Rnd 4: * sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around – 28 sc; Turn

Rnd 5: With the right side of the panel facing up, work in back loop, * sc in next 5 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 24 sc.

Rnd 6: * sc in next 2 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 18 sc.

Rnd 7: * sc in next 1 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 12 sc.

Rnd 8: * sc in next 1 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around – 8 sc.

Rnds 9 - 12: 1 sc in each st around – 8 sc.


Begin stuffing and continue until the piece is complete.


Rnd 13: * sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * twice – 10 sc.

Rnd 14: Work in back loop, sc2tog around – 5 sc.


Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Thread tail through top of sts of last rnd. Pull tail to close opening and knot securely.

Facing the right side of the Stem (Rnd 14, not the bottom), join B yarn to back loop of 1st st of Rnd 4

Ch 1 and sc in the same st, hdc in the next st, (1 dc, 1 ch, 1 dc) in the next st, hdc in the next st; * sc in the next st, hdc in the next st, (1 dc, 1 ch, 1 dc) in the next st, hdc in the next st; rep from * 6 times – 35 sts, 7 chs.


With B, sew Stem to top of Pumpkin.



TENDRILS (make two)

With B

Rnd 1: Ch 31, 2 sc in 2nd ch from the hook, 2 sc in each st along ­– 60 sc.


Fasten off and leave a strand of yarn to sew Tendrils to Stem.
